India’s winning streak continued in the T20 World Cup for Blind as the home team thrashed New-Zealand by 9 wickets here at the KIIT stadium on Tuesday. Chasing a 138-run target, Indian batsmen delivered devastating performances and seized the game in just 9 overs. After the early wicket of Md Jafar Iqbal, Indian skipper Ajay Reddy took charge and scored unbeaten 75 runs with only 28 balls. Local star Sukhram Majhi also entertained the crowd with his unbeaten 56 runs innings in just 25 balls. Majhi was felicitated with man of the match award.

Hollywood Diva Ashley Judd Interacts With KISS Tribal Inmates

**Bhubaneswar: ** On the first day of her four-day visit, Hollywood actor Ashley Judd, the UNFPA goodwill ambassador, visited Kalinga Institute Of Social Sciences (KISS) at the capital city today. She is here to implement the UNFPA programmes aimed at developing and empowering the adolescents in the tribal residential schools across Odisha through life skills education programme.

Ashley was seen tapping her feet to a melodious Sambalpuri folk number with a group of tribal girls. She also practiced yoga with the tribals and planted a tree saplling towards a green future.

Special sessions will also be organised with tribal adolescent girls and boys for Ashley to interact and understand their challenges and aspirations.

Established with just 125 tribal students in 1993, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has now become one of the largest free residential institute for indigenous (tribal) children housing around 26,300 students absolutely free. KISS provides holistic education from Kindergarten to Post Graduation (KG to PG), vocational training, food, accommodation, health care and all other basic necessities of life.

Students are enrolled from 62 indigenous communities (tribes) of Odisha, of which 13 are classified as primitive. There are some students from adjoining States such as Madhya Pradesh, North Eastern States, and Jharkhand.
While her stay in Odisha, Ashley Judd will be exposed to the rich culture and lifestyle of tribal communities, including their varied art and handicrafts.

During her tour, she will receive the Humanitarian Award at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) for her passionate advocacy and commitment towards working against sexual exploitation of girls and women. The award is given annually to personalities with exceptionally high contribution to the society in social and economic fields.
