Bhubaneswar: Taking strict action, Puri district administration on Thursday issued notice to the owner of Malaysian cargo ship ‘Jin Hwa 32′ that has gone aground on the Chilika Lake’s coast since August 7.
The notice has been served to West Bengal based company Lords Bluetech exporter to make necessary arrangements and undock the container and ship within seven days. And, two days deadline has been set for oil extraction from the ship.
While Commerce and Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera had assured no danger to Chilika from the grounded ship, oil removal from the ship began from Wednesday.
Notably, the ship was traveling from to Vishakhapatnam and was washed ashore after being damaged by high winds and rough seas.
